Take a Tree Pose
Yoli Nussdorfer
It is interesting what you can find when you are out exploring. A few weeks ago I was walking through the woods and happened upon this downed branch in the middle of my path. Someone had obviously used the upright tree to hold up the fallen branch, but I thought the shape of the upright branch was quite interesting. It reminded me of the yoga pose, Tree Pose.
The Tree Pose is all about balancing. It is one of the first balancing poses you learn in yoga and is supposed to teach you to get grounded, find your focus, stay centered, and steady your mind. Well, I think we all could use a little of that. Also, the practice of falling and trying again helps with developing persistance.
There is a quote by Kathryn E. Livingston, "Take a tree pose in your life". Interestingly enough, I have really centered myself the last few months. I have really started listening to my intuition and it has really made a difference in my daily outlook. When was the last time you listened to yourself?
