Inviting Autumn
Yoli Nussdorfer
This week's Deconstructing Color palette only resulted in one finished piece. I worked most of the week on her, pushing and pulling color. When I first created it, it began as an abstract artwork as I simply played with the colors in the palette. The palette was supposed to be the colors found in heirloom tomatoes, but as it turns out, those are the same colors found in autumn leaves.
I originally felt like it may turn out to be a waterfall/sunset piece. I let it sit on my easel, as I do many pieces, and after walking past it many times I finally saw this lady. I brought the photo into my digital palette and started working on the piece digitally. I really do like the way she turned out. She seems to have something to say, don't you think?
