It plays such a large part in my painting process. Songs inspire me, rhythms keep me going, and words sneak their way onto my canvases. Musical tunes have had a relationship in my studio since I picked up a paintbrush. But never have I thought about music and art the way I did today.
This week's Deconstructing Color palette only resulted in one finished piece. I worked most of the week on her, pushing and pulling color. When I first created it, it began as an abstract artwork as I simply played with the colors in the palette. The palette was supposed to be the colors found in heirloom tomatoes, but as it turns out, those are the same colors found in autumn leaves.
